The part where you provide us with your info and materials

What we need to know to design your website.

First and foremost, read this page: here we’ll show you the steps we’re going to take, what materials we need, and how you can provide them through the form below.
Once you’ve read all of it, gather the materials needed, complete the form, and hit the send button. We’re ready to go!

4 steps to your Paseo experience:

1. The Starting Point

We’ll start with the basic details of your project.

2. The Chosen Path

We’ll determine whether we’re going to create a new website or modify an existing one, and clarify if you already have hosting services or if you need to contract one.

3. El paisaje que vamos a ver

We’ll explain how we’re going to structure the content so it’s exactly what your customers want to know, while also making it enjoyable to read.

4. Packing your Backpack

The materials we need you to bring: texts, photos, and other stuff. Don’t worry, we’ll provide all the instructions needed to make it very easy.

The Chosen Path

The technical part: hosting and domain.

We’ll determine whether we’re going to create a new website or modify an existing one, and clarify if you already have hosting services or if you need to contract one.

IF YOU ALREADY HAVE A WEBSITE,

That means you already have your hosting and domain.
We’ll ask for:

1. The website’s admin username and password,
2. As well as the hosting service’s username and password.

IF YOU DON’T HAVE A WEBSITE,

You’ll need hosting and a domain before we can start our journey. Because we want to make it extra easy for you, we offer hosting and/or domain through telohamos.com, a trusted company we’ve been working with since 2009.

Contract it here here before filling out the form below.

The Landscape We’ll See

Your Website’s content.

We’ll explain how we’re going to structure the content so it’s exactly what your customers want to know, while making it enjoyable to read.

Our experience has taught us that any company website could divide the information this way:
  • A page for each service
  • A page about the company
  • A contact page
  • Portfolio or galleries (if relevant)
  • A homepage that summarizes and presents everything very appealingly.

We’ll need texts for each of these pages.

If your old website already contains this information, you can rework all of it with the advice we’ll give you. Otherwise, you’ll need to write new texts, which is also okay with us.

How to effectively write texts for your website

The first thing you need to know is Fundamental with a capital F:
Write in a conversational tone, as if you were telling the same thing to a colleague over coffee.

Formal texts are boring, and, honestly, nobody wants to them.

Everyone does it in the same distantly corporate way. And we don’t want to be like everyone else, do we?

What sets you apart from everyone else is your own perspective, your own way of telling it, your own experience.
Take pride in your uniqueness and let it show through your writing!

What to write on the About Me Page?

I want you to state, in a conversational mode, why working with you is a great idea.
To make it easier for you, here’s a trick I often explain:

Imagine there are two businesses on your street selling the same thing. Let’s say they’re photographers. You sit with a pregnant friend and tell her why she should come to your photography store to take pictures of her baby instead of the other store. In your words:

«You need to stop by our photography store. Everyone raves about how patient our photographer is. If the baby is fussy, we stop, we wait, and if needed, we reschedule for another day. The ambient is climate-controlled, and the lighting is very pleasant. You can bring older siblings because we have a play area right next door. You’re really going to love it.»

On the about page, people usually display their curriculum first, but that information won’t persuade your client: this is your chance to tell them how well you do it. You’ll alleviate many of their initial fears and bring them closer to the actual experience.

Additionally, I want you to write the more »traditional» part of an About Me: your career path, awards, and accreditations; but also in a conversational and open tone. This information will go after the »why working with you is a great idea» part.

What to Write on the Information Page about Your Services / Products / Courses

We’ll write an information page for each of your services / products / courses.

If you sell products, you can create an information page for each product category or range.

Here’s the outline:

  • Title and subtitle.
  • A short description in a few lines about the service/product/course.
  • List of benefits.
  • List of features. If you can relate any features/characteristics to their benefit, that’d be great!
  • »This service is for you if…»
  • »This service isn’t for you if…»
  • Frequently asked questions.
  • Price range.
  • Testimonials.
  • Basic information: date/duration of service/location/expiry.

You’ll need to repeat this outline for each service you offer.

Photos and Logos

Already have photos for your website? Great! We’re gonna need these. Send us the photos you have and we’ll choose the ones we think will fit better your style.

This is a quick-moving service, and it wouldn’t make sense to wait for you to have new photo sessions. Don’t worry, send us what you have: we’ll look for missing photos and complete them with our own resources. And remember, you’ll be able to upload others and replace them at any time.

We’ll also need your company logo. If you have several files, that works as well.

If your company has a brand book in .pdf file, we want that too. If you have something simpler, like only the corporate colors and fonts, that works for us too.

Now, how to send your files via WeTransfer

Almost there! We need you to gather the images and the texts you’ve written and send them to us through WeTransfer, a trusted file sharing site that we use practically everyday.
  • Go to wetransfer.com; accept the terms.
  • Click on the three-dot icon.
  • Choose ‘Get transfer link’.
  • Drag your files onto the screen.
  • When the process is completed, click on ‘Use link’.
  • Copy the link and paste it into the form box down below.

Packing your Backpack

Now that you’ve read everything, gather the materials and come back to this part.
Here you’ll find the form, as well as a point where you can send us the texts and photos.
